South Africa face Egypt in an international friendly at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday. It is Bafana Bafana's only scheduled friendly before next year's Africa Cup of Nations.

Mosimane's squad is dealing with several absences. Midfielders Teboho Mokoena and Bathusi Aubaas are ruled out, while defender Aubrey Modiba is considered a doubt. Egypt will also be without key figures, including star forward Mohamed Salah, who is not expected to feature.

Both teams head into the match on the back of 5-0 victories in AFCON qualifying last week. South Africa thrashed Eritrea in Cairo, with Relebohile Mofokeng scoring twice. Egypt defeated South Sudan by the same scoreline, with Omar Marmoush netting a brace.

South Africa's recent form has been mixed, with their last competitive outing a 1-0 defeat to Canada in the World Cup Round of 32. That result left them second in their World Cup group with four points from three matches.

The match kicks off at 18:00 UTC on October 4.
